Before becoming a lawyer, Ms. Casauay was a journalist and field producer for local and international media outfits, such as Rappler and Al Jazeera English. She also delved into humanitarian and development work as media officer for Oxfam Philippines.

In law school, she competed in the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, where she was awarded as the Best Oralist in the Finals in the 2020-2021 Asia Pacific Rounds. She also participated in the 2022 Oxford Global Media Law & Policy Summer Institute held onsite at the University of Oxford. The Summer Institute is an annual event that brings together top early career scholars, lawyers and policymakers from around the world to discuss the most pressing issues on media and technology.
